Shoemaker, 82, of Salisbury died Oct. 15, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born June 5, 1919 in Boynton, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Cecilia (Garlitz) Bowman. Also preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert. Survived by two daughters, Betty Lou Grew, Winchester, Va.; and Retha J. Durst, Grantsville, Md.; a brother Grant Bowman, West Salisbury; eight grandchildren. Member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and American Legion, VFW, and firemen's auxiliaries. She was a retired clerk for J. C. Lichliter's Store and Buckel's Market. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salisbury Cemetery with the Rev. Erica Beglin officiating.
