All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ SARAH SHOEMAKER Mrs. Sarah Shoemaker of West Salisbury, died suddenly and unexpectedly while visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Hecker, in East McKeesport, Pa., Jan. 6, 1943, at the age of 69 years and 29 days. The cause of her death was cardiac decomposition. She was the wife of Abraham D. Shoemaker who survives her, and was a daughter of Henry and Barbara Schrock Newman, late of Garrett County, Md., where Mrs. Shoemaker was born, Dec. 7, 1873. In addition to the bereaved husband, Mrs. Shoemaker is survived by these children: Clarence, Fred and Arthur Shoemaker, and Margaret, wife of Earl Wilhelm, all of Akron, Ohio; Ray Shoemaker, of Elk Lick Township; Paul Shoemaker, and Mildred, wife of Jack Hecker, of East McKeesport; Lulu, wife of Lawrence Dean of McKeesport; Edna, wife of Ernest Bowman of Mt. Lebanon. Funeral was held at the Shoemaker home, West Salisbury, at 2 p.m. last Friday, conducted by Rev. I. S. Monn, pastor of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, of which Mrs. Shoemaker was a faithful member. The burial arrangement was in charge of Stanley M. Thomas, Salisbury mortician, with interment in the Salisbury I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, January 14, 1943
