  SHOPE
  
    Mary Leona Shope, 86, of Meyersdale died Jan. 15, 1998 in Somerset
  Hospital.  Born Feb. 14, 1911 in Meyersdale.  A daughter of the late
  Andrew and Minnie (Brown) Stein.  Preceded in death by husband W. G.
  Shope Sr. and two sisters Bertha and Anna.  Survived by a son William
  G. Shope Jr. of Chantilly, Va., brother Frank H. Stein of Akron, Ohio
  and Grace McCall, Johnstown, and three grandchildren William Thomas
  Shope, Robert Scott Shope and Edward Brocht Shope.  Member of Amity
  United Church of Christ.  Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m.
  Saturday at the Leckemby Funeral Home where service will be held at
  2:30 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Bruce Ashlock.  Interment, Union Cemetery.
