Mrs. Short has been in poor health for about 6 years, with frequent periods in recent years in which she was bedfast. Her periods of illness became increasingly frequent and her periods of good health increasingly shorter until she finally passed away. Mrs. Short was born near Pocahontas in Greenville Township on October 2, 1900, a daughter of Charles L. and Clara (Hoffmyer) Yutzy, and was 46 years, 5 months and 19 days in age at her death. She has been a member of St. John's Reformed Church for the past 15 years during her residence in West Salisbury, and of the Reformed Church all her life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Patricia Ann; by five sons, Charles William, John Frederick, Samuel, Thomas Michael and Robert Faye, all at home; and by seven sisters; Miss Marie Yutzy of Cumberland, Md.; Mrs. Gladys Lyons of Buckhannon, W.Va.; Mrs. Wilhelmina Vogel of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Catherine Lanham of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Mabel Martin of Annapolis, Md.; and Mrs. Ann Roeder and Mrs. Esther England, both of Bedford, Pa. Funeral services were conducted in the Thomas Funeral Parlor at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25th, with Rev. Ira. S. Monn officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, March 27, 1947
