Born Nov. 30, 1928, in Coal Junction, she was the daughter of George Garfield Fisher, Salisbury and the late Beatrice Marie (Bluebaugh) Fisher. Also preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Short Sr. She will be deeply missed by friends and family. Survived by three sons: Charles William Short Jr. and friend Joy McKenzie, George David Short Sr. and wife, the former Brenda Lea Stein, and Kenneth Alan Short and wife, the former Melanie Marie Seibert; five grandchildren: Jennifer Lynn Haning and husband Ron, Melissa Christine McKenzie and husband Heath, George David Short Jr., Justin Allan Short and Kylee Marie Short; four great-grandchildren: Tiffany Renee, Morgan Kathleen and Ronald Scott Haning and Kaylyn Nicole McKenzie; five sisters: Dorothy Eileen "Sis" Seifert of Meyersdale, Norma Jean Meyers and Patricia Lousie Pritts, both of Salisbury, Judith Maxine Gindlesperger of Jerome, and Gladys Mae Brown of Garrett. Helen was an active member of St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ, St. Paul, and was a retired CNA of Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md. She has touched the lives of so many and due to her sudden, unexpected passing, her memory shall never fade. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., today (Monday) at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Md. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday at St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ with the Rev. Bruce Ashlock officiating. Interment, church cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to either St. Paul's Church of [sic] the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department.
