  SHORT
  
    James Samuel Short, 64, (formerly of Grantsville, Md.) of 119 Union
  St., Salisbury, died Sept. 17, 2003, at Meyersdale Medical Center,
  Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale.  Born March 4, 1939, at
  Meyersdale, he is the son of Grace M. (Engle) Short Garlitz and the
  late James A. Short.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by
  his wife, Rita R. (Negosta); three sons, James Richard Short,
  Woodbridge, VA; Michael Frederick, Grantsville, Md.; Sean Frederick;
  Princeton, N.J., an uncle, Clifford Engle, St. Paul, Pa.; and five
  grandchildren.  Mr. Short was also preceded in death by his sister,
  Jean M. Green.  Mr. Short was a truck driver for Fuel City.  He
  served in the U.S. Air Force and is a member of the Salisbury VFW and
  St. Paul Wilhelm United Church of Christ.  At his request, there will
  be no viewing or service.  The body will be cremated.  Contributions
  may be directed to the American Lung Association.  Condolences may be
