    Bernard A. Shortt, 81, 84 Jerome Ave., Jerome, died March 30, 1989,
  at Memorial Hospital.  Born April 13, 1907* in Brockway, son of Simon
  and Sarah (Flickinger) Shortt.  Preceded in death by parents,
  sisters: Margaret Swanson and Geraldine Goss, brothers: Simon, Leo,
  Vincent and John.  Survived by wife, the former Alice V. Adams, and
  these children: Margaretta, wife of Clarence Harmon, Jerome; Donald,
  married to the former Regina Viel, Hampton, Va., and Gerald, married
  to the former Darlene Ernest, Richmond, Va.; 11 grandchildren, 10
  great-grandchildren, brother of Paul, Johnstown.  Member of Holy
  Cross Catholic Church, Jerome; U.M.W.A.  Local 1257 Seward, L.O.O.M.
  48, Johnstown; Jerome Volunteer Fire Department; and Jenner Rod and
  Gun Club.  Observed 62nd wedding anniversary Feb. 19, 1989.  Retired
  miner with 47 years service.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
  Friday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where wake
  service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday.  Mass of Christian Burial
  at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Church, with the Rev. Conrad Salach
  O.F.M., Conv. officiating.  Interment, church cemetery.
