All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ CHARLES SHOW and Alvira SHOW Double Funeral For Confluence Couple Charles Show and Wife Died Only 24 Hours Apart - Laid to Rest Together Double funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Mr. and Mrs. Charles Show, who died 24 hours apart at their home on Oden Street. Mr. Show had been ill for two weeks suffering from a heart attack. Mrs. Show died suddenly after an illness of three days. Mr. Show was a lifelong resident of Confluence, where he was born June 28, 1873. He was the son of the late J. D. and Catherine Show. After 43 years as a B. & O. Telegraph Operator he had retired in 1938. Mr. Show is survived by one sister, May Show Maddox, of Fairmont, W.Va. Mrs. Show was a daughter of Thomas H. and Euphamia Smith of Masontown, where she was born June 19, 1876. She is survived by one brother, Thomas D. Smith, of Masontown. Mrs. Show was active in the different organizations of the Confluence Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Volunteer Fire Co., and the American Legion. Mr. and Mrs. Show are survived by one son, Dr. Thomas R. Show, who is now a Major in the service of his Country, stationed at Camp Pickett, Va. Also one granddaughter, Paula Show. Funeral services were in charge of Rev. J. S. Shannon, pastor of the Confluence Lutheran Church. Interment was made in the Baptist Church Cemetery, in charge of C. B. Humbert and Samuel Black.
