She was the daughter of John and Mary Reiber, the oldest of 8 children and the last one to pass to the great beyond. She was the mother of four children: Luther (deceased); Mrs. Zetta Kurtz, Mrs. Mary Bird, and Grace Show, all of Confluence. The latter had been her constant companion since her father passed away. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Edith Cunningham, Leah Morman, Everett Show, Carl Show and Mrs. June Peterson. Also six great-grandchildren: Jane and George Cunningham, Nancy, Thomas and Joan Peterson, and Eugene Show. She was reared in a home that was strictly religious, and at the age of 12 years became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Confluence and was a faithful member until the end. A beloved mother and a Christian almost without fault, everyone who knew her, admired her. Recently she was honored on her 100th birthday with the broadcasting of her favorite hymn, "In the Sweet By and By," being sung over station WMBS. The funeral services were held in her home on December 21st at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. James Shannon, pastor of the Lutheran Church of which she was a member. He was assisted by a former pastor, Rev. G. O. Ritter. Interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery, where she was laid to rest beside her husband. Meyersdale Republican, January 15, 1942
