Showalter, 63, of 122 Lowry St., Salisbury, died Aug. 19, 1997, at Meyersdale Manor. Born March 2, 1934, at Fort Hill, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Olive (King) Hollada. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Beulah Showalter and Leota Hollada, and 3 brothers: Charles Z. Hollada, Edgar Hollada and Roland "Don" Hollada. Survived by her husband of 42 years, Samuel J. Showalter; a son, David S. Showalter, Lusby, Md.; 3 brothers: Walter Hollada, Norwalk, Calif.; Carl "Ken" Hollada, Salisbury; Robert Hollada, Fort Hill, and one sister, Wanda Kretchman, Meyersdale. Member of Main Street Brethren Church, Meyersdale. 22-year Emergency Medical Technician with Salisbury Area Ambulance Association. Also member of Ambulance Auxiliary, Salisbury VFW Ladies Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary, Salisbury Firemen's Auxiliary. Was employed for 25 years as nursing assistant at Somerset State Hospital. Lola enjoyed calling "Mountain Style" square dances. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Md., where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Robert Stahl officiating. Interment, Maple Glen Cemetery, Fort Hill. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Main Street Brethren Church or Salisbury Area Ambulance Association.
