  WALTER D. SHOWMAN
  
    Walter D. Showman, 80, of Rockwood RD 2, died July 29, 1978 in the
  Somerset Community Hospital.
    Born March 12, 1898 in Jefferson Township, he was a son of the late
  Frank and Lillie (Gardner) Showman.
    He was preceded in death by one son, Lane; and two brothers and
  survived by the following children: Kenneth, of Wakeman, Ohio; Mrs.
  Orville (Delores) Miller of Glencoe; Forrest Showman of Ligonier;
  Duane of Champion; Frank of Melcroft; Raymond of Meyersdale, Dennis
  of Somerset; Mrs. Emery (Vada) Harrold of Rockwood RD 2; also one
  step-son, Carl A. Shaulis of Wadsworth, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; two
  great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl of Somerset; and two sisters:
  Mrs. Fred Ankeny of Somerset RD 6; and Miss Mabel Showman of
  Somerset.  He was a member of the Center Church of the Brethren.
    Friends were received at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where
  funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David
  Huey officiating.  Interment, Bakersville Cemetery.
