SHROYER George Irvin Shroyer, 88, of Ellerslie, Md., died August 18, 1978 in Sacred Heart Hospital where he had been a patient 18 days. Born in Hyndman RD 1, April 15, 1889, he was the son of the late William Shroyer and Minnie (Griffith) Shroyer. He was a retired engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad with 22 years service. He was a member of Ellerslie United Methodist Church and Pennsylvania Railroad Voluntary Relief Department. Surviving are his widow, Pearl (Lowery) Shroyer; two sons, Bruce E. Shroyer and Irvin J. Shroyer, both of Ellerslie, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Bach of Corriganville; Mrs. Ruth Smith of Lower Burrell, Pa.; Mrs. Jean George of Mt. Rainier, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Logsdon, Hyndman; Mrs. Arvilla Madden, Ellerslie, Md.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where services were conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment, Porter Cemetery. The Republic, August 24, 1978 [S1537]
