Shroyer, 70, of Markleton passed on May 10, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born May 3, 1931 in Black Township. Son of the late Ben and Darlie (Hostetler) Shroyer. Preceded in death by half-sisters Vera and Marie, and half-brothers Jesse, Daniel and Charles. Survived by his wife Barbara (Trimpey) Shroyer, foster daughter Genina, married to Andy Berger and grandson Sam Berger of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters, Ada Lepley of Boswell, Anola Mitchell of Berlin, Darlie Romesberg of Garrett, and Alice Purbaugh of Rockwood, and brother Leroy Shroyer of Meyersdale. Also sister-in-law Mary Shroyer of Stoystown, and many nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the VFW Post 554 in Somerset, and the National Rifle Association. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood, with a service to follow at 8 p.m., Rev. Dwight Yinkey officiating. Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
