Shroyer, 73, Railroad Street, Jerome, died Dec. 15, 1998, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born July 30, 1925, in Jerome, son of Melvin A. and Alma (Bowman) Shroyer. Preceded in death by parents; sisters: June Horner, Mona Boris and Wanda Shroyer, and brother, William. Survived by wife, the former Pansy Ogline, and these children: Rita, wife of Eugene Landis, Boswell RD; Von, married to the former Diana Wachs, Melvin, married to the former Virginia Adams, both of Johnstown, and Susan, wife of Wayne Shields, Jerome; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Brother of: Elaine, widow of Millard Blough, Pittsburgh; Leah, wife of Porter Lintz, Jerome; Fay and wife, Paula, Windber; Donald and wife, Cora, Johnstown; Robert and wife, Joan, East Canton, Ohio; and Joyce, wife of David Brewe, Cleveland. Member of the Jerome Nest 556, Polish Falcons of America; Jenner Rod and Gun Club, Jerome Sportsmen Assoc., Jerome Post 802, American Legion, and Berkley Hills Golf Club. Retired from Wheel Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp., with 30 years service. Navy veteran of World War II. Observed 51st wedding anniversary Jan. 31, 1998. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Davidsville, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. David D. Hamman officiating.
