    Walter L. "Poppy" Shroyer Sr., 70, Berlin, died June 28, 2007, at home. Born Sept. 10,
  1936, in Meyersdale, the son of John and Lydia (Kowatch) Shroyer. Preceded in death by
  parents; his wife, the former Rhoda Mae Miller; stepdaughter, Kathy N. Blough; sister,
  Verna Miller; and stepsister, Pearl Ross. Survived by these children, Ronald D., married
  to the former Crystal Courtney, Berlin; Rhonda J. Carrion, Berlin; Bette F., married to
  Tom Deneen, Brogue; Walter L. Jr., married to the former Cindy Mothersbaugh, Carl E.,
  married to the former Sherry Johnson, Paul L., all of Berlin; Tracey A., Confluence;
  son-in-law, Timothy Blough, Dallastown; 16 grandchildren and numerous
  great-grandchildren. Also survived by special friend, Judy Emerick; and brothers-in-law,
  Robert Miller, Berlin; and Irving Miller and wife, Josephine, Central City. He was a
  self-employed logger and member of Mountain Field and Stream Club. Family will receive
  friends from noon until time of service 3 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. The
  Rev. Sherman H. Berkey officiating. Interment Sarver Church Cemetery.
