Born Feb.14, 1927, in Jenners. The son of John and Pauline (Pelesky) Shubik. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Helen O'Connor and Evelyn Lesko; and brother, Samuel Shubik. Survived by wife of 53 years, the former Yole Gusmerotti; sister, Anna Telenko, Jerome; brother, John Shubic, and wife, Angela, Chicago, Ill.; brother-in-law, Louis Gusmerotti, and wife, Josephine, Jerome; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Gary Gusmerotti, and his wife, Lisa, Jerome; and pet yorkie, Tasha. A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Retired structural iron worker for Local Union 3, Pittsburgh. Member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Davidsville, Jerome Post 802, American Legion, Jerome Nest 556, Polish Falcons of America and Jenner Rod & Gun Club. He was an avid golfer and gardener and a very loving and devoted husband. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 109 Church Road, Davidsville, where vigil for the deceased will be held Friday afternoon. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Church. The Rev. Fr. Michael Lewandowski, OFM Conv. celebrant. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery, Jerome, with military rites by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
