All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ SARAH JANE SHULTZ Sarah Jane (Blystone) Shultz was born July 19, 1867, at Kecksburg, Westmoreland Co., Pa., and died March 31, 1942, at 10 p.m., aged 74 years, 8 months and 12 days. Mrs. Shultz was the daughter of Henry C. and Rebecca Griffin Blystone and was third in a family of 17 children of whom 7 survive. She was united in marriage with John Shultz May 24, 1887, and soon after went to Uniontown, where she spent most of her life. Early in life she became affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church. She was the mother of 10 children and had 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Children deceased are William B., and Bertha C., Bessie E., John, Harry, Harold, Prishley H., and Russell H. Her husband, John Shultz, passed away Dec. 12, 1936. The surviving children are Merrell M. Shultz of Somerfield and Mrs. Helen J. Burnworth of Clarksburg, W.Va. Brothers and sisters surviving are Mrs. Mary E. Morriss of Cannonsburg, Pa., Mrs. Nettie Steiner, Greensburg; Mrs. Celia Patterson, Jeannette; Mrs. Lelia Irwin, Wilkinsburg; Edward L. Blystone and William R. Blystone, both of Greensburg; and Ira F. Blystone of Trafford City. Funeral services were conducted in the home of her son, Merrell Shultz, Somerfield, on Friday, April 3, at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Mary F. Richey of Addison assisted by Rev. Harold L. Davis of Uniontown. Interment in the Sylvian Heights Cemetery, Uniontown. Meyersdale Republican, April 9, 1942
