JOHN A. SHUMACK

  John A. Shumack, 71, died Saturday evening, Jan. 11, at his home on Dale St.  
He was born May 2, 1875, in Elk Lick Twp., a son of Joseph and Eliza (Schrock) 
Shumack.  His wife, Tillie (Hoffman) Shumack, died in 1918.
  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edith Wellen, at home; a brother, Wilson 
Shumack, Summit Mills, and three sisters - Mrs. Elmer Engle and Mrs. John Engle, 
both of Meyersdale R.D. 1, and Mrs. Ida Bockes, Garrett.  There also is a 
granddaughter, Miss Phyllis Wellen, Somerset.
  Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Price & Son Funeral 
Home by Rev. Gerald Polman, pastor of the Main Street Brethren Church.  Burial 
in Lichty Cemetery, Summit Twp.
