Shumaker Sr., 77, of 156 Main St., Grantsville, Md., was DOA at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md., Nov. 21, 1984. Born Oct. 19, 1907, at Jennings, Md., son of the late Abraham and Stella (Housel) Shumaker. Preceded in death by his first wife, Etta Mae (Rettenhour) Shumaker. He is survived by his widow, May (Brennaman) Shumaker; eight sons: Clyde, Oden Dale, Herbert and Abraham, all of Somerset; David, Newport News, Va.; Alvin Jr. and Robert, both of Grantsville; and Harold of Hendersonville, N.C.; two daughters: Mrs. Betty Baer, Somerset; Mrs. Bonnie Miller, Grantsville; one stepson, Larry Brennaman, Amarillo Texas; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Helen Satcho, McKees Rocks, Pa.; two brothers: Cecil of Boswell; Lee of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Jacobs, Waldorf, Md.; 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday from Maple Glen Mennonite Church with the Rev. Ivan Maust officiating. Interment, Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Champion, Pa. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Saturday.
