  ARTHA E. SHUMAKER
  
    Artha E. Shumaker, 69, of Salisbury died Nov. 20, 1981, in Sacred
  Heart Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
    He was born May 28, 1912, in Meyersdale, a son of the late Frank D.
  and Nora (Housel) Shumaker.  He was also preceded in death by a
  brother, Allen, and two sisters, Ruth Marteney and Mary Baer.
    He is survived by his widow, the former Pauline Deal; a daughter,
  Sally, wife of Edward E. Younkin of Waldorf, Md.; and one grandson,
  Edward A. Younkin of Waldorf, Md.; two brothers: Dr. Paul C. of
  Greenville and Robert A. of Meyersdale.  He was a member of Amity
  United Church of Christ, Meyersdale American Legion and the VFW.
    Friends were received in the Leckemby Funeral Home, where services
  were held with the Rev. Lloyd Sechrist officiating.  Interment, Union
  Cemetery.
