Shumaker, 85, Somerset RD 1, died July 1 at her home. She was born Sept. 13, 1888 in Cambria County the, daughter of the late Levi and Elizabeth Young Lape. She is preceded in death by her husband, George M., who died in 1953, two daughters, a son and a sister and two brothers. She is survived by these children, Mrs. Lawrence (Alverda) Burkett, Rockwood RD 1, Mrs. Clarence (Velma) Clay, Forrest, both of Somerset RD 1, 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Levi, of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Frieda Sevits, Painesville, O., Calvin, Medford, N.J., Harry, Mrs. Eva Walter, Miss Mary Lape, all of Somerset RD 1. She was a member of Milford United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Milford Church with the Rev. I. Dwayne Johnson and Rev. Daniel Enterline officiating. Interment, New Centerville Cemetery.
