SHUMAKER Charles Leroy Shumaker, aged 59 years, 3 months and 27 days, died at his home on Keystone Street, at 3 o'clock Wednesday, Aug. 2nd. He lived in Meyersdale for 16 years and conducted a Singer sewing-machine sales and repair agency until failing eye-sight obliged him to retire several years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. June Landis Shumaker, and the following children: Mrs. George Blankenbiller, Mrs. L. H. Clinton, and Mrs. Ray Brown, Reading, Pa.; H. W. and Daniel Shumaker, Akron, Ohio, and Cadet Merl Shumaker, U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Harry Shumaker, Elkins, W.Va.; Edward, Flint, Mich.; Annie, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Stella Walbert, Frostburg, Md., and a half-brother, Arthur Knepp of Meyersdale. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Norman Seese in the Boynton Church of God. Burial in Meyersdale Union Cemetery, directed by R. Reich & Son, Meyersdale morticians.
