Shumaker, 69, of Endwell, Ohio, died at his residence Wednesday, April 9, 1986, after a long illness. Born December 9, 1916, he was a son of Emma D. (Tressler) Shumaker and Daniel B. Shumaker, in Meyersdale. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Howard Shumaker, of Meyersdale. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Shumaker, Endwell, Ohio; Sally, Binghamton, Ohio; Mrs. Greg (Donna) Villanti, Betty Lou Shumaker, both of Endwell, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Lyssa, Christina, Michelle, Amy, Nikki, Robbie, Danny; one sister, Mary Brant, Berlin; brothers, Robert Shumaker and Frederick Shumaker, both of Meyersdale; William Shumaker, Frostburg, Md.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of the Union Center United Methodist Church, a retired employee of the Maine-Endwell School District. A veteran of WWII, serving in the US Air Force. He was also a member of the Maine Senior Citizens. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 13 at the Union Center United Methodist Church, Maple Drive, Union Center with the Rev. Dwight Giles Sr., pastor of his church officiating. Burial was in the Nanticoke Valley Cemetery, Union Center, Ohio. The Republic, April 17, 1986 [S1644]
