  SHUMAKER
  
  Mrs. Sarah E. Shumaker, 83, of Quecreek, died Jan. 19, 1977 in
  Allegheny Hospital, Pittsburgh.  Daughter of the late Henry Cristina
  Horchler Menhorn.  Born June 28, 1893 in Elk Lick Township.  Preceded
  in death by her husband Harvey, in 1959, one son, one sister, and five
  brothers.  Survived by seven children: Mrs. Clifford Grace Arden,
  Somerset RD 2; Mrs. Mae Alzene Stern, and Ward, both of Quecreek;
  Mrs. Melvin Helen Mayer, Troy, Ohio; Carl Eugene, Madison, Wisconsin;
  Harvey Jr., Los Angeles; Robert, La Porte, Indiana; 17 grandchildren
  and 2 great-grandchildren.  Member of the United Church of Christ,
  Somerset.  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Thursday at the
  Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral service will be
  conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m.  The Rev. Richard Shellenberger
  officiating.  Interment, St. Paul Cemetery, Salisbury.
