  SHUMAKER
  
    Willard James "Pete" Shumaker, 83, Somerset RD 7, died March 6,
  1996, at Somerset Hospital.  Born April 2, 1912, in Bedford.  Son of
  Ada Shoemaker.  Preceded in death by mother; first wife, the former
  Mary Lou Weaver, who died Feb. 26, 1965; and brother, Benjamin F.
  Shoemaker.  Survived by second wife, the former Jewel Cort Lucas, to
  whom he was married 29 years.  Member of Trinity Lutheran Church,
  Somerset.  A 1931 graduate of Johnstown High School.  U.S. Army
  veteran of World War II.  Owner of S & A Chevrolet of Somerset from
  1936 to 1981; partner of the former Downtowner Motor Hotel of
  Johnstown; director of GTE for 26 years from 1953-1979; member and
  past president of Somerset Country Club.  Friends received from 2 to
  4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. 
  Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Chapel of Trinity
  Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating. 
  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.  Contributions may be sent
  to Trinity Lutheran Church, 918 Tayman Ave., Somerset, Pa. 15501.
