Shumaker, 74, of Frostburg, Md., died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1989, at Frostburg Community Hospital, Md. He was born in Meyersdale, a son of the late Daniel B. and Emma D. (Tressler) Shumaker. He was retired from the Celanese Corporation and was a bus driver for Friends Aware, Willetts, Chapman's and Barnes. He was a member of Welsh Memorial Baptist Church and Men's Bible Class, and the DAV in Cumberland. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his widow, Mabel (Morgan) Shumaker; two sons: W. Larry Shumaker, Hagerstown, Md.; and James D. Shumaker, Frostburg, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Brant, Rockwood; two brothers: Robert Shumaker and Fred Shumaker, both of Meyersdale; and five grandchildren. Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home where services were conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. William G. Boyer. Interment, Frostburg Memorial Park, Md.
