Shunk, 84, of Allentown, Pa., formerly of Berlin RD, died Wednesday, August 16, 1978, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lebanon, Pa., after a long sickness brought on by a stroke. Born in Elk Lick Township, Somerset Co. April 24, 1894, he was a son of Francis and Matilda (Hetrick) Shunk. Jack was the husband of Eva E. (Mitchell) Shunk. Surviving with his widow are two sisters Mrs. Florence Hostetler of Meyersdale, and Mrs. Gladys Meyers of Salisbury. Jack was an army veteran of World War I. He retired from the Magnetic Windings Company of Easton in 1959. Services were held on August 21 in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home in Allentown. Interment was in Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall, Pa. The Republic, August 31, 1978 [S1688]
