  NORMAN S. SHUPE
  
    Norman S. Shupe, 82, of Berlin RD 4, died Aug. 23, 1973, in
  Somerset Community Hospital.  Born Feb. 17, 1891, at White, in
  Fayette County, he was a son of the late Abraham and Amanda (Hoover)
  Shupe.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia, three
  sisters and a brother.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Alda (Brant) Meier, and three
  stepchildren, Mrs. Lewis Koontz, Warren, Ohio; Mrs. Melvin Schilling,
  Fredericktown, Ohio; and Leo Meier, Maitland, Fla.; also 13
  step-grandchildren and 17 step-great-grandchildren.
    He was a veteran of World War I.
    Funeral service was conducted Sunday afternoon in Ridge United
  Church of Christ, with Rev. Donald Ansell officiating.  Interment in
  Ridge Cemetery.
