She was the widow of Michael Siehl who died more than twenty years ago. Mrs. Siehl came from Germany as a girl and lived in the eastern part of the state where she was married to Michael Siehl. More than half a century ago the young family came from Allentown to this county where the family has resided since, first at Summit Mills and surrounding communities. Mr. Siehl died at Shaw Mines, after which Mrs. Siehl bought a property on South Side, and had lived in Meyersdale for the last thirteen years. She was born June 11, 1838, and was at the time of her death 75 years, 3 months and 26 days. She was the mother of nine children. William, aged 24 years, died eight years ago. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Kate Miller of Cumberland, Md., Mrs. Annie Folk of Grantsville, Md., Mrs. Mary Mimmie of Shaw Mines, and the following of Meyersdale: George D., Henry C., Mrs. Minnie Baumaster, Louis P. and Clement. She is also survived by forty grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Siehl had been a lifelong member of the Reformed Church and one of the oldest members of Amity congregation. She had been in feeble condition for the last eight years and for the last five had made her home with her son, George D. Siehl, on Salisbury Street. She had received several paralytic strokes in the last few years. On Tuesday morning another one came which terminated in her death after lingering for two days. The funeral services were held at the home of George D. Siehl on Saturday afternoon at 2:00. Her pastor Rev. A. E. Truxal, D. D., officiated. Interment was made in the family lot in the Reformed Cemetery. Meyersdale Commercial, Oct. 9, 1913
