Siehl, 75, died Monday afternoon, Jan. 5, at her home in Somerset. She was born in Meyersdale, August 3, 1873, a daughter of John W. and Anna Catherine Snyder Smith. She is the last of a family of ten children. Her husband, Henry C. Siehl, a prominent coal operator in Somerset and Clarion Counties, died in July, 1947. Six children survive - Margareta, Mrs. Elmer Mathias of Huey, Pa.; Alta, Mrs. James E. Campbell, Indiana, Pa.; Clarence H. Siehl, Sligo, Pa.; Catherine, Mrs. John W. Gnagey, Somerset; Alberta, Mrs. Fred L. Campbell, ??; Pauline, Mrs. Walter Sheafer, Pottsville; also 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Siehl was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church and of the Order of Eastern Star of Somerset. She was a sister of the late George Smith, and Barney and Julius Smith, former residents of Meyersdale. Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 2:30 p.m., at the Siehl home on East Main Street, Somerset, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. George L. Roth officiating. Burial in Somerset County Memorial Park under the direction of Mortician Walter Hoffman. Meyersdale Republican, January 8, 1948
