MARY S. SIEHL

  Mrs. Mary S. Siehl, 75, died Monday afternoon, Jan. 5, at her home in 
Somerset.  She was born in Meyersdale, August 3, 1873, a daughter of John W. and 
Anna Catherine Snyder Smith.  She is the last of a family of ten children.  Her 
husband, Henry C. Siehl, a prominent coal operator in Somerset and Clarion 
Counties, died in July, 1947.
  Six children survive - Margareta, Mrs. Elmer Mathias of Huey, Pa.; Alta, Mrs. 
James E. Campbell, Indiana, Pa.; Clarence H. Siehl, Sligo, Pa.; Catherine, Mrs. 
John W. Gnagey, Somerset; Alberta, Mrs. Fred L. Campbell, ??; Pauline, Mrs. 
Walter Sheafer, Pottsville; also 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  
Mrs. Siehl was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church and of the 
Order of Eastern Star of Somerset.  She was a sister of the late George Smith, 
and Barney and Julius Smith, former residents of Meyersdale.
  Funeral services will be held Thursday, at 2:30 p.m., at the Siehl home on 
East Main Street, Somerset, with her pastor, Rev. Dr. George L. Roth 
officiating.  Burial in Somerset County Memorial Park under the direction of 
Mortician Walter Hoffman.
