(Sam) Sigler, 78, of 620 Chestnut Ave., DuBois, retire Lutheran Minister and former Clearfield County Commissioner, died at Maple Avenue Hospital, October 22. Friends were received at the Mohney - Yargar Funeral Chapel and services were conducted from the Trinity Lutheran Church by the Reverends Dr. Arthur Yeagy, secretary of the Central Pennsylvania Synod, Louis Bowers and Charles Sibley. The Rev. Singer was born at Paintersville, April 5, 1898, the son of William and Sara Sigler. He was married to Dorothy (Young) Sigler, who sirvices him. He was the senior clergyman of DuBois, a graduate of Susquehanna University and the Susquehanna Theological Seminary and ordained in 1925. He pastored the Salisbury Charge before going to DuBois in 1944; he also served as a school director for Somerset County for nine years. Survivors are: his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Joanna) Johnson of Ridgeway; a son, Samuel Sigler of Oshkosh, Wisc.; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
