    Thelma Silek, 89, Bedford died Jan. 5, 2000 at South Roanoke
  Nursing Home, Roanoke, Va.  Born July 19, 1910 in Acosta.  Daughter
  of the late Frank and Mary Silek.  Survived by a sister Sadie
  Dawahare of Hazard, Ky.; and two sisters-in-law, Laura Silek of
  Granite City, Ill. and Najala Silek of Front Royal, Va.  Also a
  number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Owned the
  Corner Dress Shop in Bedford.  Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m.
  Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where services
  will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Very Rev Father
  Donald Shadid officiating.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial
  Park.  Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Antiochian Church,
  P.O. Box 476, Johnstown, Pa.  15905.
