She was born Aug. 19, 1927, daughter of the late Perry and Florence "Ted" Del Vecchio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jon "Jack" Del Vecchio. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William H. "Bill" Silvis; her six children, Timothy Silvis of Greensburg; Toni Kerila and husband Tom of Somerset; Tina Silvis and fiance Eric Peter of Voorhees, N. J.; Teri Moidel, and husband Gary of Delmont; Tami Silvis and husband Wynn Hamm of Greensburg; Todd Silvis and wife Susan of Crabtree; grandchildren Lisa Sabers; Billy and Emma Silvis; Melissa, Kimberly and Benjamin Moidel; great-grandson Nicholas Sabers. Also survived by sister Barbara Schlirf and husband John "Jack" of Jeanette; brother Perry Del Vecchio, Jr. and wife Margaret of Mentor, Ohio; nieces and nephews. Joan was a member of the First Reformed United Church of Christ in Greensburg. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a registered nurse by Integrated Health Systems. She was a 1949 graduate of the Presbyterian University Hospital School of Nursing. Family and friends will be received at from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at he Kepple - Graft Funeral Home, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the First United Church of Christ, S. Maple Ave., Greensburg with Rev. Edwin J. Fromm officiating. (Everyone please go directly to the church).
