   George Simmons, 79, Berlin (Macdonaldton), died June 5, 2008, at Somerset Hospital.
  Born May 3, 1929, in Macdonaldton, son of Frank and Mary (Petro) Simmons. Preceded in
  death by parents; wife, the former Marianne E. Schraut; brothers, Frank and Michael; and
  sisters, Mary Collein, Christine, Helen and Eva Simmons, Ann Salonish, Catherine Beverly,
  and Stella Arscott. Survived by brothers, John, Gibsonia; and Paul, Berlin; and loving
  friend, Charlotte Chonko and her family. A 1947 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High
  School. He was a Korean War Army veteran. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6
  to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m.
  Monday. The Rev. Dr. John Harmon officiating. Interment Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
