Simmons, 90, Somerset Pike, Boswell RD died April 7, 2001 at home. Born Feb. 8, 1911 in Johnstown, son of William and Emma Jane (Darr) Simmons. Preceded in death by parents, infant sisters Maggie and Edna, infant brothers Silas and Edwin, sister Elsie Kautz and brothers Frederick, Earl, William, Frank, Elroy, Grant and Clarence. Survived by wife of 54 years, the former Mildred A. Hunt; children: Jolene J., married to Robert McDonald, Largo, Fla., William M., married to Mary Lynn Morganosky, Somerset, LaRue G., married to Roy Spangler, Duncansville, and the Rev. Brian N., married to Susan Seese, Jennerstown; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and sister Nellie Mae Moriarty, Holiday, Fla. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces Violet Dick and Minnie Ruth Worrell. Member of Ridge Church of the Brethren, Hooversville RD. Retired supervisor for the Lower Cambria Machine Shop, former Johnstown Plant Bethlehem Steel Corporation. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville where service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Brother Kermit Jones officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown.
