Born Nov. 11, 1917 in Macdonaldton, son of Frank and Mary (Petro) Simmons. Preceded in death by parents, brother Frank and sisters Mary Collein, Christine and Helen Simmons. Survived by his wife, the former Pauline Swet; brother of Ann Salonish of Hyndman, Catherine Beverly of Oxen Hill, Md., Eva Simmons and Stella Arscott, both of Baltimore, Md., John of Gibsonia and George and Paul, both of Berlin; also, numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from the former J&L Steel of Pittsburgh, WWII Army Air Force veteran, member of Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, Goodtown and the Berlin American Legion. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where parastas will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Brief service at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Friday, followed by divine liturgy at Sts. Peter and Paul's Orthodox Church Goodtown. Very Rev. John Govrusik.
