Simpson, 89, of Salisbury, died April 28, 1985, in Altoona V.A. Hospital. Born Aug. 31, 1895, in Birmingham, Ala., son of the late Frank R. and Mary (French) Simpson. Survived by a brother, J. Alden of Greenville, S.C. He was a retired employee of the Deer Valley YMCA. He was a member and former secretary and news editor of the Salisbury Lions Club. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Salisbury American Legion. Friends will be received Tuesday (today) 7-9 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home, Salisbury. A memorial service will be held later in Birmingham with interment in the Elmwood Cemetery. Daily American, April 30, 1985 [S1758]
