Born May 6, 1916, in South Fork, daughter of Garnet T. and Savilla (Baumgardner) Hillegas. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Miles K. Costello Sr.; second husband, Walter C. "Spike" Singer; son, Marlin L. Costello Sr.; sisters, Hazel Simmons, Mildred Croyle and Audrey Reynolds; and brothers, Howard, George, Bernard and Harry Dean Hillegas. Survived by son, Miles K. "Ken" Costello Jr., married to Delores Rowe, Fairhope; daughter-in-law, Laura (Hordubay) Costello, Fairhope; grandchildren, Linda L., wife of Kenneth Shue, Dover, Roy A., married to Annalee (Resley), New Baltimore, Gary L. and fiancˇe, Phyllis Lombardo, Boothwhyn, Ruth A., wife of Stephen Boyer, Glenalden, Dana G. Costello, Prospect Park, Dona J., wife of Matthew Murtha, Folsom, Marina K., wife of Randy Fisher, Fairhope, Marlin L. Jr., Fairhope, eight great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Hillegas) Blozevich, Port. St. Lucie, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Madeline was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Park, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Ralph G. Landis officiating. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
