Singo (Chub), 75, of Kennett Square, formerly of Boswell, died April 15, 2000 in the Chester County hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1925, in Acosta, son of Robert R. and Henrietta (Miller) Singo. Preceded in death by parents, son Nathan, Jan. 4, 1962, and brothers Todd and Glenn. Survived by wife of 53 years the former Carmella M. Calderone, sons David L. and Wife Betty Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Richard S. and wife Jill Friendswood, Texas, and Douglas A. at home, three grandchildren, one great granddaughter and sister Chrystal and husband Russell Hostetler, Bakersville. Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church post 5467 VFW and Post 491 American Legion all of Kennett Square. Ceramic tile mechanic and enjoyed fishing and gardening. Veteran of WWII having served with the 153rd Army Corps of Engineers. Friends received from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell, where a vigil for the deceased will be held Tuesday evening. Funeral mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Church, Boswell. The Rev. Father Martin Breski OFM. Conv. celebrant. Committal Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Jennerstown.
