Sipe, 75, of Somerset, died Feb. 20, 1974, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born June 29, 1898, in Pine Hill, he was a son of the late Edward J. and Annie (Fritz) Sipe. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Rebecca; two sisters and two brothers. Surviving are his wife, the former Goldia Kimmel; a son, George E. Sipe, Somerset RD 3; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; also three brothers, Paul, of Pittsburgh; Luther D., of Somerset RD 1; and Theodore C., Rockwood RD 1; and a sister, Mrs. Jane Shultz, Indianapolis, Ind. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Somerset; and an active member of New Centerville Farmers' and Threshermen's Jubilee Committee, having restored several steam engines for individuals. He was a 41 year member of Somerset Fire Department, an honorary member of New Centerville and Rural Fire Department, a member of Somerset County Firemen's Association and a retired employee of Cochran Equipment Company, Somerset. Funeral service was conducted Saturday morning in Wilbur Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, with Rev. Donald Lash officiating. Interment in New Centerville Cemetery.
