Sipe, 76, Rockwood RD 1, died Aug. 24, 1996 at Somerset Hospital. Born May 4, 1920 in Boswell, son of the late Joseph C. and Hazel (St. Clair) Sipe. Preceded in death by sister, Blanche Hillegas and also Ethel May in infancy. Survived by wife of 54 years, the former Helen Weaver; daughters, Gail Lambert and Mrs. Perry (Sharon) Childs, both of Somerset; grandchildren, Eileen, Anita, Leonard and Kenneth Lambert, and Julie and Jeremie Childs. Retired from Farm Bureau and Agway Energy Products, Somerset, with 37 years of service. Member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Rockwood; Milford Grange #1744; Somerset County Pomona Grange; Pa. State and National Grange; World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy; VFW Post #554 of Somerset; American Heart Association; charter member of Area Agency on Aging and an R.S.V.P. volunteer. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Ardell Mason officiating.
