Sipe, 85, of Friedens RD 2 died Dec. 14, 1978, at Somerset Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1893, in Jenner Township, son of the late John and Blenida (Koutz) Sipe. Preceded in death by one daughter and 11 brothers and sisters. Survived by his widow, the former Hazel St. Clair; two children: Mrs. Ernest (Blanche) Hillegas, Friedens RD 2, and Homer S., Somerset RD 1; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Barnhart of Palmyra. A retired farmer, he went to Orlando, Fla., every winter for the past 30 years. A member of Hemophilia Foundation of Pittsburgh and St. Mark Lutheran Church, Shanksville. His death ended a marriage union of 65 years. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. today, Saturday, in the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral service will be conducted Monday, 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Dale Biesecker officiating. Interment, Crossroads Cemetery, Jenners.
