(Ted) 12/23/06 Daily American Theodore C. "Ted" Sipe, 87, Milford Township, passed on Dec. 21, 2006, at Somerset Hospital. Born July 13, 1919, in Milford Township, he is the son of the late Edward J. and Anna M. (Fritz) Sipe. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eleanor (Meyers) Sipe, in 1995; sisters, Jane Shultz, Margaret Custer and Ada Etzell; and brothers, Roy, Harry, Paul, Karl and Luther Sipe. He is survived by his son, Robert Sipe and wife, Georgia, Uncasville, Conn.; grandson, Corey Sipe; and nephew, Edward Sipe and wife, Faye, Rockwood; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Wilma Miller and husband, Wilbur, Rockwood. He is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Rockwood. He was a charter member and past president and treasurer of the Laurel Hill Lions Club and had more than 50 consecutive years of perfect attendance. He was a charter member of the New Centerville & Rural Volunteer Fire Co and operated a shingle-making machine at the Firemen's and Threshermen's Jubilee for many years. He was a longtime farmer in Milford Township and loved to purchase and restore antique tractors and display them at shows. He also worked as a part-time employee at Miller Funeral Home in Somerset for more than 20 years. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Ardelle Mason, pastor, officiating.
