Sipes, 88, of Mather, Pa., formerly of Confluence, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1993, in the Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, Pa. She was born July 29, 1904, at Hexibarger. Daughter of the late Daniel and Pearl Younkin Firestone. Married to Charles Sipes, who died in 1963. Mrs. Sipes resided in Mather since 1981, where she made her home with her sister, Orpha Hostetler. In August 1987, she was critically injured in an auto accident. As a result of the accident she was confined to the Presbyterian Medical Center until her death. She was a Protestant and attended the Mather Christian Church. Survivors include 3 sisters - Mrs. Rhuie Lynch and Kathryn Gerhard, both of Latrobe, and Orpha Hostetler of Mather; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Behm Funeral Home Inc. Rt. 188 Jefferson, Pa., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Services at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment, Jersey Cemetery, Confluence. Daily American, February 8, 1993 [S1839]
