All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ _________________________________________ Sipple, Edward Edward Sipple, a well known resident of near this place, died very suddenly Thursday at the home of Daniel Yutzy near Hyndman, where he had been employed about two weeks before his death he had broken his leg while dragging logs. On Thursday, after a harty (hardy?) breakfast, Mr. Sipple complained of feeling faint and fell over unconscious, death ensuing in a very few minutes. Mr. Sipple was crippled when a boy. In playing one leg was caught in the rounds of a ladder and being thrown backwards a permanent injury was caused. Deceased was for many years a devoted member of the Reformed Church and was always in his place at prayer meeting Sabbath School and preaching services, unless something unpreventable deterred him. Mr. Sipple never married. At the time of his death he was aged 42 years, 8 months and 28 days. Deceased is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Henry, John, George and Ezra, all of Meyersdale; Rev. Simon Sipple, of Allentown; Rev. Dennis Sipple, of Summit Station; Mrs. Adam Hersh and Mrs. John Tressler, Meyersdale. The funeral was held on Sunday at 9 a. m. from the home of George Sipple, Dr. Truxal officiating.
