Sivits, 62, of New Paris, died March 6, 1979, at residence. Born July 14, 1916, in Somerset County, son of the late Harry A. and Elsie (Daley) Sivits. Preceded in death by son and half-brother. Survived by step-mother, Jennie Layton Sivits of New Paris RD 1; widow, the former Nora R. Moeller; and these children: Daniel; Pansy, wife of Delmas Miller, Schellsburg RD; Joseph E. Jr., at home; step-daughter, Patricia, wife of Patrick Dumpert, Bedford RD 1; three grandchildren; half-sister, Mrs. Bertha Jane Standerfer, New Paris RD 1. Was retired carpenter and expert gunsmith and builder of Flintlock rifles. Collector of Bedford County rifles. Member, National Muzzle Loaders Association and other muzzle loader clubs throughout Pennsylvania. Founder of Shawnee Rangers. Member Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., the Rev. John Foster. Interment, Fishertown Cemetery.
