  SLAYTON
  
  George W. Slayton, 88, of RD 3 Meyersdale, died Sept. 2, 1976 at
  home.  Born June 22, 1888, in Boyer, West Virginia, son of the late
  John and Mary Ann (Shipman) Slayton.  Survived by his wife, the
  former Vernie Higgins, also four sons: Edward, of Boca Raton, Fla.;
  George, of Salisbury; and Ray and Richard; also two daughters, Mrs.
  Mary Baughman, and Mrs. Betty White, both of Meyersdale; also one
  brother, Austin; and 14 grandchildren.  Preceded in death by a son,
  Arthur.  Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Friday at the Thomas
  Funeral Home, Salisbury, where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m.
  Rev. Louis Whitford officiating.  Interment Salisbury Ceremony
