'Bud' 11/14/07 Daily American Emerson J. "Bud" Sleasman, 79, Ligonier (Wilpen), died Nov. 10, 2007, in Mountain View Specialty Care Center. Born June 3, 1928, in Somerset County, a son of the late James Sr. and Sarah Sanners Sleasman. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Nash; a son, Daniel Sleasman; a sister, Alverda Hall; and three brothers, Domer and Wade Sleasman and Kenneth Douglas Sr. He is survived by three sons, Grover J. "Dodie" Sleasman, and friend, Cynthia Ashbrook, Hooversville; George E. and wife, Connie Sleasman, Somerset; and Thomas P. and wife, Marty Sleasman, Wilpen; five grandchildren; four sisters, Emma Jean Tinkey, Kregar; Dorothy Simms, Gray Station; Sandy Sleasman, Stahlstown; and Freda Sleasman, Derry; and three brothers, John Sleasman, Donegal; James Sleasman, Everson; and Raymond Sleasman, Stahlstown. Prior to his retirement, he had been a self-employed woodsmen, specializing in post and rail fencing. Friends were received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the at the J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel Inc., 144 East Main Street, Ligonier, where a celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating.
