Born February 21, 1922, in Macdonaldton, he is the son of Michael and Mary (Swanik) Slifco. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Frank, John, George, Steve and Nick; sisters Anna Tataleba, Kathryn Rizak, Mary Ross, Helen Burket, and Stella Stapinsky. Survived by a sister Susan Mack, Cleveland, Ohio, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special niece Sue Slifco of Berlin. He was a retired partner in Slifco Brothers Coal Co. A graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School class of 1942, decorated Army veteran of World War II, and was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed scenic truck rides. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Greek Russian Orthodox Church, Goodtown. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, with Parastas at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. A brief service to be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by Funeral Liturgy at 9 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Greek Russian Orthodox Church, Goodtown. The Very Rev.
