  CHARLES SLIFCO
  
  Charles Slifco, 82, Macdonaldton, died June 13, 2004, at Memorial
  Medical Center, Johnstown.  Born February 21, 1922, in Macdonaldton,
  he is the son of Michael and Mary (Swanik) Slifco.  Preceded in death
  by his parents, brothers Frank, John, George, Steve and Nick; sisters
  Anna Tataleba, Kathryn Rizak, Mary Ross, Helen Burket, and Stella
  Stapinsky.  Survived by a sister Susan Mack, Cleveland, Ohio, numerous
  nieces and nephews, and a special niece Sue Slifco of Berlin.  He was a
  retired partner in Slifco Brothers Coal Co.  A graduate of Berlin
  Brothersvalley High School class of 1942, decorated Army veteran of
  World War II, and was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed
  scenic truck rides.  He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Greek Russian
  Orthodox Church, Goodtown.  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and
  7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, with Parastas at
  7:30 p.m. Tuesday.  A brief service to be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday
  at the funeral home followed by Funeral Liturgy at 9 a.m. at SS.
  Peter & Paul Greek Russian Orthodox Church, Goodtown.  The Very Rev.
  John Govrusik officiating.  Interment St. Gregory's Cemetery.
