Slifco, 75, Berlin RD 3, died Dec. 24, 1987, at Maple Mountain Manor. He was born Jan. 12, 1912, in Macdonaldton, a son of Michael and Mary (Swanak) Slifco. Preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Dorothy Schiller; four sisters and three brothers. Survived by these children: John M., Brockway; Dorothy Sue, Berlin; William, married to the former Ann Ream, Berlin; Paul, married to the former Darlene Smith, Library; Edward, married to the former Stephanie Jano, Berlin RD 3; also three grandchildren: Teresa, Sarah and Amy. He was a brother of: Charles, Berlin RD 3; Nick, Berlin RD 4; Mrs. George (Susan) Mack, Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. Katherine Rizak, Central City. He was a retired coal operator and an Army veteran of W.W. II and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul's Russian Orthodox Church, Goodtown. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home. Divine Liturgy will be sung at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Central City, with the Rev. John Govrusik officiating. (Friends may meet at the funeral home for prayers at 8:30 a.m. Monday). Interment, St. Mary's Church Cemetery. Parastas will be recited Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
